Pops tough kid is back with new single “Therefore I Am” and she isn’t sparing anyone’s feelings.

Billie Eilish has had to deal with the harsh realities of stardom since she was 17, following the release of her debut album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”.

The album won her five Grammys, and attention that led to thousands of unsolicited comments about her figure.

Now at 18, it’s clear that the criticism has led to her having some of the thickest skin in pop.

“Therefore I Am” starts with a cool kid beat that would give anyone the confidence to fight their critics.

And that’s exactly what Eilish is about to do.

“I’m not your friend/ Or anything, damn/ You think that you’re the man”.

Eilish instantly lets everyone know that she is in a league of her own, and she’ll soon tear away at whatever confidence has led people to believe that they could fairly criticize her.

And as the youngest artist in history to ever win those aforementioned Grammys, Eilish definitely possesses the power to do so.

“Stop, what the hell are you talking about? Ha/ Get my pretty name out of your mouth”.

She’s gearing up to hurt feelings. By the off chance that the track is written about a specific person, verse 2 is a hefty blow.

“I don’t want press to put you’re name next to mine/ We’re on different lines, so I/ Wanna be nice enough so they don’t call my bluff/ ’Cause I hate to find/ Articles, articles, articles/ Rather you remain unremarkable”.

There it is. That nonchalant attitude that tends to hurt more than someone tossing insults.

Eilish not only doesn’t care about what this person (or people) have to say, but also doesn’t care enough about this person (or people) to talk about them.

It’s “those who mind don’t matter, those who matter don’t mind” but tougher.

Eilish’s tough girl lyrics and beats combined with her more introspective sentimental tracks are what makes her so entertaining.

And she will only continue to grow.
